I know, an RVR is by no means supposed to be a Montero. However they are both small Mitsubishi SUVs.

I hope to one day see a resurgence of small legit off roaders, but I doubt it’ll happen.

The Wrangler is probably the closest we’ll ever seen and it gets bigger every decade.

How many damn names does that thing have? I know it is an RVR in Canada and Japan I think, ASX in Europe and Outlander Sport in the USA. Are there more?

I wonder what the record is for most model names in different markets for the same car is. Like Pontiac Pursuit (Canada)/Pontiac G4 (Mexico), which of course they then went and decided to sell in the US and renamed them all G5 because pre-bankruptcy GM was full of crazy people. It can’t be much more than 3 I would think.

It was rebadged under something like 8 different makes including Asuna up where you live, but as a Suzuki it was only called Sidekick and Vitara.

Oh you’re thinking ones with different names within the same brand. That’s a trickier one, I’m not sure. The RVR is gonna be hard to beat I bet

The RVR was the right car (crossover actually) at the right time for Mitsubishi as it was the first real Mitsu I regularly saw on the streets at a time where crossovers really caught on (in Europe at least). Too bad Mitsubishi does not have anything to really follow up that hype. A simple ugly (imo) facelift just simply isn’t enough. And ressurecting a more or less (in)famous nameplate for an ugly crossover “coupe”? Sorry but nah. I just hope Carlos will somehow turn them around.

My ‘92 range rover is the same length as my girlfriend’s Prius. It’s also shorter and narrower than the new Honda CRV.
